There is a town of Rossow within Mecklenburg(-Schwerin), but
no currently known connection. Suffix -ow generally denotes a Wend (Sorb),
although this was Eva's father's surname, and the Wendish towns were located
elsewhere. U5b could be Baltic German (Belarus), or Slavic (Ukraine). The
Belarus match shows Ashkenazi, but B. Greenspan opined admixture. U5b is
susceptible to migraine and occipital stroke. (3) Carl Gustav Wulbrand = Eva
Rossow (2) Lorenz Crull = Lena (Magdalena) Wulbrand (1) Christian Leverenz (b.
1828, Casdorf) = Frederica Crull (b. 1830, Rosenow) Casdorf / Kasdorf = parish
town. No marriage rec.; but, 1st dau. bapt. 1854. Imm. 1855 from Rosenow to
Ports of Hamburg and NYC, thence to Cheektowaga (1855) and (by 1870) to West
Seneca, Erie Co., NY. Christian's 1893 death rec. in St. John's Evangelical
Lutheran Church in W. Seneca. Fredericka's ca. 1906 death in Buffalo was
indicated by her last listing in 1905 directory.
