1A. George Nichols, b. ca 1755. Thought to have been born NC or SC. Purchased 50 acres 20 Apr 1787 near Prosperity, Newberry Co, SC, and died here in 1800.
1B. Luke Nichols b. ca 1797, SC, youngest son of George Nichols. Lived near Prosperity, Newberry Co, SC, died and was buried here.
2A. ?”Joseph Nichols”?, b. ca 1760. Thought to have been born NC or SC. Bought land in 1785 on waters of Big Creek, waters of Saluda River, Newberry Co, SC. Lived near his brother George Nichols (1A) and believed to have died and buried here. Joseph Nichols (in red), father of Luke, is found in the historical records, but will keep him as “Speculative” for the time being.
2B. Luke Nichols, Lexington Co, SC, b. 1808. Thought to be a son of Joseph Nichols.
3A. Father of Arthur Nichols. ?”William Nichols”? (In red, as he has not yet been proven. Currently a best guess).
3B. Arthur Nichols, b. ca 1807. On SC Kershaw Dist Census for 1830. On Perry Co, Al Census for 1840.
3C. William H. Nichols, b. ca 1829. May have been born SC, father is on 1830 Kershaw Dist, SC Censsus.
LCA = Last Common Ancestor. ?”George Nichols”? (In red, as he has not yet been proven. Currently a best guess).
DNA Test Results (Identical Matches) for Kits #7228, # 7229, and #23311 indicate that George, Joseph, and ?”William”? are related, perhaps brothers.
