Died July 7, 1904 (Milltown, NJ).   His passport says he was born in Wallendorf, but his death record says Eisenberg, both of which are in Thuringen, a state in Germany.  He is likely of the famous Hammann clan that started Wallendorf porcelain, http://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com/thuringia/wallendorf_1/00.php .  This family is thought to have come to Thuringen from Swabia and was closely affiliated with the Greiner family originally from just east of Stuttgart, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany.
