According to The Ulster Historical Society, this family has lived in the Townland of Magherabeg, Fahan Parish, (C of I) Co. Donegal, Ireland, from at least 1740 when they were listed in the Protestant Householders List. Their descendants live there today. The spelling used here reflects that appearing in contemporaneous Parish Records that survived the 1922 fire in the Four Courts Building.
