Frederick Walter Hamman died on June 1, 1957, in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, when he was 83 years old.
Great Grandfather: Henry Hamman was born on November 19, 1825, in Stark County, Ohio, the child of Daniel and Salome. He married Harriet Stonehill in April 1851. They had 12 children in 21 years. He died on August 28, 1880, in Hamilton, Indiana, at the age of 54, and was buried there.
2nd Great Grandfather: Daniel Hamman was born on April 27, 1798, in Pennsylvania to Syllibis Thomas and John Johan Hamman, age 53. Married Salome Thomas on November 19, 1825. Daniel Hamman lived in Stark County, Ohio, in 1840. Daniel Hamman died on November 8, 1865, in Hamilton, Indiana, when he was 67 years old; Buried Hamilton (Steuben County), Steuben County, Indiana, USA.
3rd great grandfather: (history becomes uncertain here) Johan Hamman was born 10 May 1744 ? in Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. He married Margaretha Bromm and they had 11 children together. He then had seven sons and nine daughters with Syllibis Thomas. In 1838 he died in Stark County, Ohio, and was buried in Sharpsburg, Maryland ?
4th great grandfather: (history becomes even more uncertain here) : John Hamman was born on January 12, 1687, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. He had one son and two daughters with Anna Margaretha Becker. His wife Anna Margaretha passed away on January 13, 1789, in Bretten, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, at the age of 74. He died in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
NOTE: The Progeneologists who have been trying to track down the 3rd and 4th great grandfathers, have some concern that there is a mixture of generations among the various John/Johann names. They haven’t come up with anything specific as yet.
